Certified lifesaving and firefighting equipment services for vessels in Montenegro.
A liferaft is one of the most important pieces of safety equipment on board a vessel.
It has been designed, tested, and approved to save your life in the event you must abandon a ship.
The only way to ensure that your liferaft is in exceptional condition and ready for deployment is to inspect it annually at an approved service station. Annual inspection ensures that your liferaft will perform and operate as designed.
Annual inspections are also the only way to combat the wide range of elements the liferaft is exposed to each year — factors that accelerate natural ageing of the raft and its components.
By inspecting your liferaft annually, you increase the life expectancy of the unit and, most importantly, restore your confidence while on open waters.
The total fee for your liferaft service includes:
• Base service fee
• Items replaced
• Spare parts used for service
• Required documentation
Listed below are items that may add to the base inspection fee depending on raft type and age:
• Hand flares – 3 years
• Parachute flares – 3 years
• Smoke signals – 3 years
• Repair kit glue – 3 years
• Batteries (flashlight) – 1 year
• Batteries (interior/exterior lights) – 5 years
• First aid kit
• Sea sickness tablets
• Food rations – 5 years
• Drinking water – 5 years
• Manufacturer’s certificates
• Gaskets and seals
• Bursting straps
• Vacuum bags
• CO₂ cylinder testing and refilling
• Hydrostatic releases
• Labels
• Five-year GI tests
• Hoses replacement at GI test intervals
• Necessary Additional Pressure Test (NAP)
• Floor seam test
• Blast test
• The container or valise is visually inspected for damage prior to opening.
• The container or valise is opened and the liferaft is removed for inspection.
• Inflation gas cylinder is removed for later inspection and weighing.
• Equipment bag is removed for equipment verification.
• A detailed inspection is performed while unfolding the liferaft to identify any damage, fabric deterioration or adhesive failure.
• The liferaft is filled with dry compressed air and pressure relief valves are tested for proper operation.
• External and internal lighting systems are function-tested.
• Once inflated, the raft is left to stretch before leak testing.
• After stretching time, tubes undergo pressure testing for the specified period. Pressure is recorded, adjusted for temperature/atmospheric changes, and compared for loss to confirm integrity.
• Equipment bag contents and internal raft equipment are checked. Expired items are replaced only if they expire before the next service due date.
• The inflation gas cylinder is inspected for damage, hydrostatic test date, then weighed. Triggering head is fired and inspected internally. Required seals are replaced, components greased, reassembled and armed.
SOLAS commercial liferafts must undergo additional testing after ten years of service according to IMO Resolution A.761(18).
These include:
• Necessary Additional Pressure Test (NAP)
• Floor seam test
Every five years, liferafts must undergo a Gas Inflation Test (GI test) — a full operational inflation test of the raft system.
Hoses are renewed at GI intervals.
• The liferaft is reassembled and repacked according to manufacturer instructions.
• The firing cable for the inflation system is attached to the painter line.
• Container gaskets and seals are replaced, straps installed, and valises sealed or laced.
• All labels are inspected and replaced as required.
• All test results, repairs and renewals are recorded on the service report and archived at the service station.
• Manufacturer certificates are issued and the raft is returned to the owner ready for service.
Above is just a general guide and may or may not apply to your specific liferaft.
