Immersion Suits Service

Certified inspection, testing and repacking of immersion & anti-exposure suits

Immersion suits and anti-exposure suits should be inspected in accordance with SOLAS regulation III/20.7 and MSC/Circ.1047 to ensure they are in good condition and ready for use.
Furthermore, the air pressure test required by MSC/Circ.1114 must be conducted at every required service by an authorised service station at 3-year intervals.

Any immersion suit over 10 years of age should be serviced annually at an approved service station.

Our trained technicians will ensure your suits, storage bags, associated lights and whistles (where applicable) are properly inspected and serviced. You are welcome to attend the service and get familiar with your suits.

Immersion Suit – Typical Inspection Procedure

• Suit is removed from the storage bag; the bag is inspected for cleanliness, damage, and matching serial numbers. Presence of the donning instruction label is verified.

The suit is unfolded and laid flat for detailed visual inspection, including:

• Outer material checked for visible damage, holes, or tears
• Zipper inspected for condition/function and waxed
• Collar/hood inspected for cracks, scratches, gluing, ribbons and mounting
• Rubber wrist seals inspected for cracks, scratches, gluing and mounting
• Gloves checked for condition, cracks, proper mounting and adhesion
• Buoyancy foam checked for condition; if the suit has an inflatable bladder, a leak test is performed
• Oral inflation tube inspected for proper function
• Reflective tapes checked for condition and mounting
• Holding pockets inspected
• Boots/socks inspected for defects, tears, or holes
• Body/buddy lines and associated hooks inspected for condition and mounting
• Whistle inspected for condition and tested (for immersion suits designed to be worn without a separate lifejacket)
• Light checked for function and expiry date (for immersion suits designed to be worn without a separate lifejacket)
• Leak test performed based on suit age according to SOLAS regulations; suit is then properly cleaned/dried

After inspections and tests, the suit is repacked according to manufacturer’s instructions and returned to its storage bag.
